OOOooh, it feels so GOOOoood!

Butch's favorite things, in random order, are sleep, rawhide chews, belly rubs and back scratches. I feel all warm and fuzzy when I watch him enjoying the first three items on that list, but the back scratching? That just makes me laugh.

I promise I don't intend to flood you with home movies, but this scene is repeated around here at least a couple of times a day, and I can't wait to share it with you. Turn up your speakers, ladies and gents, and let me introduce you to Iiiiiiitchy Butchieeeeeeee!

I'm just now catching up on your posts and came to this one. Butch certainly is expressing his satisfaction with the results of the scratching. Tinker uses my furniture but only when I'm not looking. The vet told me that dogs get really itchy on their backs and sometimes chew on their toenails because they are allergic to something. I noticed this in Tinker, some months she is more itchy than others, usually at the same time I'm suffering with allergies. Does Butch chew on his toes and nails? Every time Tinker needs a scratch she just backs up to me as if to say "Would you scratch my back please?"

Butch does chew on his toenails, but I've always thought he did it to keep them short (since he won't let me touch them with the nail clippers). Now I'll have to pay attention and see if he bites his nails at times other than his itchy season.

Butch does the backing up thing, too.
